I like Ann Coulter. I think she is smart, quick and yes sassy. Few people can as effectively crystallize and focus a point and always make me laugh while doing it.

I dislike Keith Olbermann. I think he is dull, dense and yes boring, obnoxious, etc. So Ms. Coulter's article on Mr. Olbermann and my dislike of Mr. Olbermann was the marriage made in heaven for me. Yes, I now understand Mr. Olbermann better, too.

Euphorians have seized the day. Worry and fear flows freely in the streets. Only the incurably delusional and the insatiably power hungry are buying into the current "solution" as viable. This is a good time for believers in the one true God to exercise their faith. Faith in what? Faith that we personally will not be affected by an economic crash? Faith that we personally will remain rich, fat, happy. Or is it faith that Christ is our sufficiency in and through all circumstances?

On a more practical side, we may have in-your-face opportunities to give more than a cup of cold water to fellow pilgrims.

Let Us Be Of One Mind

I met a Christian just pumped about "The Power of Now" by Eckhart Tolle. As you may know Mr. Tolle is "many paths lead to God" Opra's buddy. It is beyond me how a Christian can not see Tolle's ideas for what they are, warmed up Eastern/Transcendental philosophy. Or in more accurate terms, Luciferian logic. I had no apparent luck with Mr. Tolle's new diciple. Perhaps they will stumble upon the truth or the Holy Spirit will reveal it along the way if they are listening.

Why would this be Big or Huge? The open arm popularity of this old deception in new clothing may evidence the soon coming return of the true God and savior, Jesus Christ. Now that is a BigHugeThing!

Let's be clear. Man's attempt to reach a perfected state without God or outside of God is not new. Man's attempt to alter his consciousness, thus elevating his consciousness and joining with a supreme consciousness and becoming one IS NOT NEW! Why do people keep falling for this foolishness? There are many paths to stupidity ... that's my new philosophy.

Is this Big and Huge or Baloney? Baloney until your first sighting or visitation I assume. Then what will you believe? The Raelian's would have been thought of as wacko by most of us not many years ago but today their message of alien genetic manipulation to "create" humans is very popular and "scientific" feeling. It would so validate Darwinism would it not?

All you "only one way" Christians are in for a rough ride. I'd suggest you understand what you believe and why or be swept away with the coming deception. The current is getting stronger and swimming up stream will be increasingly difficult.

Let's All Just Get Along ... It Will All Work Out

So what's a guy to do. Maybe a good start would be understanding that things are not going well, will not go well, and are not going to end well for this worldly world. Or maybe I'm reading the wrong translation?

All People Are Basically Good, Just Like Me

I run into more and more people lately that object to the mean spirited Christian attitude of exclusiveness(ie Jesus is the only way) and they insist on explaining it to me. Christian's "only one way" "know it all" attitude bothers their inclusive tolerance and they are not going to put up with it any longer (don't make me point out the irony). They are finally speaking out (after years of silence?), fueled perhaps by The Messiah Obama's victory. Not to be outdone, Christians are jumping on the band wagon. Certainly they do not want to be viewed in such a negative light. Eckhart Tolle and Oprah appear reasonable and common ground to them.

Is there some common thread to this anti-Christian and improved-Christian thinking? I think so. Most (maybe all) things religious (atheism is a religion of sorts) can be best understood through the Garden of Eden paradigm. The God of the Bible shows man trying to achieve godliness on his own, without God or through other gods. So instead of man possessing "original sin" and needing a redeemer provided by the one and only true God, man to these people is basically good (except George Bush) and if we would only just get along, travel more or be European, then all would be at peace.

Why argue or discuss the extremities. As long as you are being pressed into the conversation or tortured with demagogic rhetoric, why not take opportunity to explain the simple, heart-of-the-matter difference in view point. I'll bet they have never thought of it, many Christians don't see it and end up being dragged into a wiley discussion usually ending with the Iraq war.

You will never convince these people of anything anyway so why not present the Gospel according to the Garden of Eden and let the Holy Spirit do the rest.

I am trying to formulate my customized generic approach (is that an oxymoron?). It would include some of the following:

You believe man is basically good and if we would all just try our hardest to be better everything would work out. Apparently good is not good enough so better is the new good.

The Bible says that man has fallen into sin and needs a redeemer. Man needs to be recreated, reborn by the Spirit of God through faith in Jesus Christ the only son of God.

I am expecting this to be a short conversation so I probably need not plan further.
