Appearances Deceiving: "The sin of Sodom, declared God's prophet, was that 'she and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy' (Ezek. 16:49)"
I felt safer when they were accused of sins beyond mine. How do we help the poor and needy? Do I get credit in God's eyes for my tax portion of government aid? Does being "saved" absolve me from direct poor and needy assistance? If I were to help, what would it look like? How many protestant sermons have I heard on helping the poor and needy?
